THE MOTIVATIONS TO EXERCISE AND THE GOOD INSTRUCTOR

And the Instructor says “today we will build arms” and means that we will work out the triceps along the entire length of all three heads or “today we will build a butt for the beach” that is “today’s exercise routine is aimed at all the muscles around the hip that keep the pelvis stable in its position while walking” or “this exercise is good for the cervical syndrome” while training the back!

So it is a matter of perspective and internal motivation of each trainee to exercise. The right instructor / trainer treat the trainees from the role of an educator, regardless of their age. It is necessary to have a leader who will take responsibility for correctly guiding the trainee with knowledge and ethics to achieve what is best for their health, while at the same time showing sensitivity to their psyche. Because there is a different reason why every adult starts exercising, while the essential goal is one: physical and mental health.

The task of the trainer, coach, instructor – call it what you want, is to direct the individual towards this goal and let each person express their personal expectations from exercise in their own way. Some people exercise because they want to stay young forever, some to convince themselves that they are still young and healthy, some to build a body for the beach or for the perfect selfie! Some want a new start in their life while others have always exercised and adapt as they age to whatever type of exercise they can tolerate. Some vent their anger, others calm down and focus, and others suffer from musculoskeletal imbalances and exercise relieves them. The type of exercise, the exercise space, the other people in the group, even the music, but mainly what the instructor says, are the elements that, in addition to internal motivation (which is weak in most people), constitute the external motivation to choose a type of exercise and stick to its program.
